ArtsPass is a music release management platform designed for K-12 schools. It facilitates the submission, parental consent, administrative approval, and handoff for distribution of student music releases to streaming platforms.
ArtsPass is intended for use by accredited K-12 educational institutions, their staff, enrolled students, and the parents or legal guardians of those students. Use by individuals outside of an institutional context is not supported at this time.
For students under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide digital consent before any release is submitted for distribution. The consent page displays the student's name, release title, and the platforms the release will be distributed to, so that consent is fully informed.
By clicking the consent link, the parent or guardian confirms they have reviewed the release details, have the legal authority to authorize the release on behalf of the minor, and agree to the distribution described. Consent records are timestamped and stored securely. ArtsPass does not release music without a recorded consent on file.
The school administrator is responsible for reviewing releases prior to distribution approval. Schools agree to use ArtsPass only for legitimate student artistic works and to ensure appropriate use by students and staff. Schools entering an institutional agreement with ArtsPass are subject to the additional terms in the School Data Processing Agreement.
Students retain full ownership of their original music. ArtsPass claims no rights to student works.
By submitting a release, the student and their parent or guardian represent and warrant that:
ArtsPass does not verify ownership claims before submission. Any liability arising from a copyright dispute is the responsibility of the submitting party.
ArtsPass facilitates the distribution handoff but does not itself collect, hold, or distribute streaming royalties. Royalties are paid by distributors to the account designated by the school at the time of distribution setup. Schools are responsible for establishing and managing the designated royalty account and for any arrangements with students or parents regarding the disbursement of earnings.
ArtsPass is not a financial institution and is not responsible for unclaimed, disputed, or misdirected royalty payments.
ArtsPass provides a platform for release management and is not responsible for the content of student releases, disputes with streaming platforms, copyright claims, or royalty payment issues arising from third-party distributors.
